Technology Development Group (TDG) Highlights

January 1994 — Several Amway Distributors met in Chelsea, MI to discuss the use of technology in the Amway business.

February 1994 — Diamond Club Hawaii Tom Eggelston Amway COO announces Technology Advisory Group made up of major opinion leaders from around the world.

March 1994 — Technology Development Group is formed and Amway staff attends a meeting in Toledo, OH. Members listed in The Quixtar Revolution by Coy Barefoot.

March 1994 — Technology Development Group (TDG) was named as an ad-hoc committee to the Amway Distributor Association (ADA) Business and Operations Committee chaired by Bob Zeender, Jim Floor, and Randy Haugen. Chairman of the TDG, Brad Doyle reports to the ADA Board and the Bus Op Committee

March 1994 - July 1999 — TDG met with Amway Corporate staff each month at the function location of the Amway Distributor Group led by Tom Eggelston, Bert Crandall, Ken McDonald, Jake Bosmeijer, Doug DeVos, Jim Blodgett, and Randy Bancino.

July 1998 — TDG recommends the concept of Clients, Members, and IBOs with designated name definitions.

September 1998 — Chairman of the TDG presents concepts to the Amway Global Management Committee. Present were Rich and Helen DeVos, Jay and Betty VanAndel, Dick and Betsy DeVos, Steve and Cindy VanAndel, Doug and Maria DeVos, and Dave and Carol VanAndel

November 1998 — TDG Chairman Brad Doyle is elected to the ADA Board and serves on the Business Operations Committee for a three year term.

April 1999 — Amway applies for a process patent for the Quixtar concept.

July 1999 — Chairman of the TDG presents the concepts to the Growth Committee of the ADA Board chaired by Billy Florence. In attendance were Jody Victor, Bob Andrews, Tim Foley, Jim Floor, Greg Duncan and others.

February 1999 — TDG met with Fry Multimedia twice in Ann Arbor, MI to outline the functional requirements for the Quixtar site. In attendance was David Fry and his staff and Randy Bancino, Jim Blodgett, Gary Mathieu from Amway.

August 1999 — Chairman of TDG becomes the only Amway Distributor to preview the Quixtar site, shortly followed by other members of the TDG.

September 1999 — Quixtar launches.
